Space X

SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 by CEO and Lead Designer Elon Musk to revolutionize space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. SpaceX has gained worldwide attention for a series of historic milestones. It is the only private company ever to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, which it first accomplished in December 2010. The company made history again in May 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft attached to the International Space Station, exchanged cargo payloads, and returned safely to Earth — a technically challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments. Since then, Dragon has delivered cargo to and from the space station multiple times, providing regular cargo resupply missions. Under a $16 billion contract with NASA, SpaceX is flying at least 20 cargo resupply missions to the International Space Station. In the near future, the company will begin transporting crew. The company has grown to +4,000 employees.
